So how do you get your website to page one in the Search Engines... or should I say Google ;-)?
This is a question that could be answered with one word, "persistence". Shakespeare said "much rain wears the marble" and in SEO "consistent quality content pleases the engines", and your customers. So should you just start to through up content until you get a desired effect? Not exactly, getting consistent results requires that you point your efforts in a strategic manner. So I guess "focused persistence" is more accurate, but persistent none the less.
How then do you go about being persistent?
- Have a destination or goal of what you want to rank for. (This is keyword research that we will cover later)
- A plan to get there or actions that you are going to take
- Social media
- Constant Website updates and valuable content
- Solid website architecture
- directories
- blogs
- press releases
- link baiting
- link exchange
- all of the above
- Last step Persistence; this is the wash, rinse, lather and repeat of SEO and the glue that makes the rest work. Just stick to your plan on a consistent basis and you will get results over time. How long it takes obviously depends on how competitive your chosen industry is and how big your market is.
